I have known Fred Spanjaard, both professionally and personally, for close to twenty years.  I have attended many of the events that he has produced over these years. I never cease to be amazed by his particular ability to create a high impact experience for people. Fred has a sense of taste and class that is palpable.  He loves excellence and attends to all the little details that create a superb final experiential space for the event.

What has always impressed me about him is the variety of expertise that he utilizes. He’s got a vision and a plan for how every aspect ought to be functioning.  He can manage a volunteer team like no body’s business.  He can design a food and beverage plan that will knock your socks off.  He can organize everything from the testing of sound equipment and lighting, the logistics of special guest and talent support and care, programming, exhibits, ambience, promotion outreach…all the way down to the way the lobby feels and who is welcoming the guests.  He doesn’t miss a beat of what’s going on anywhere.  I once watched him run a fundraising event where he did everything from oversee the fancy coffee cart, to introduce the entertainment acts, and then finally deliver the fundraising pitch.  They got their money’s worth of Fred that night.

For this reason, when it came time to produce our biggest event, a contribution course with an attendance of three hundred people for five different meeting times, my dream was to have Fred run this for us.  Just knowing that Fred would be the eyes and ears of every aspect allowed my husband and I to let go and attend to what was ours to do…the teaching of the course.

Fred not only noticed and attended to the entire space and all needs, but made it a special point to check in with us regularly to see if there was anything we needed or felt needed taking care of.  He is a professional beyond any doubt.  He’s got the feel.  He can deal with the janitor and he can deal with the mayor and the celebrities.  He is a people person.

Fred simply loves producing events, and it shows.  It’s his calling.  You can expect commitment that you can depend on.  He gets the job done.
